Change the name people see on your mail

To change the name people see when you send mail, open Settings › Default Settings and edit Outgoing Mail Display Name. It saves as soon as you click outside the box. The name is required, up to 30 characters, and may use your language's letters and symbols such as . _ - ( ) [ ] |.

How to change the name people see on your mail

Where: Settings › Default Settings

  1. Click your profile picture, then Settings, and open Default Settings.
  2. Edit Outgoing Mail Display Name.
  3. Click outside the box. The new name is saved.

When to use it

Priya Sharma handles billing at acme.in. She sets her display name to "Priya Sharma | Accounts", so customers can see at a glance which department is writing to them.

Good to know

  • The display name changes only the name shown to recipients. Your email address stays the same.
  • Mails you have already sent keep the old name.
