Why can I mail only some addresses?

If you see "You are restricted to send emails to addresses other than Global and Admin Address Book", your administrator has limited your account. You can send only to people in the organisation's global and admin address books, and to any domains your admin allows. Remove the other addresses and send again, or ask your admin to add the address.

How to why can i mail only some addresses?

  1. Write your mail and click Send.
  2. If the restriction message appears, note which addresses are not allowed.
  3. Remove those addresses from To, Cc and Bcc.
  4. Click Send again, or ask your administrator to allow the address or its domain.

When to use it

Interns at a cooperative bank may mail only bank staff and the bank's auditors. When an intern tries to send a file to his personal Gmail, the mail is stopped with the restriction message.

Good to know

  • The restriction is set for each user by the domain or server administrator.
  • It also applies to quick replies from the mail list.
  • The admin can allow extra domains, for example an auditor's or a partner's domain, alongside the address books.
