Accept mail only from your contacts
To limit who reaches your Inbox, open Settings › Security › Antispam and choose Receive email from everybody, Receive email from my address book, or Move to Quarantine folder if the sender is not in my address book. It saves at once. With the quarantine option, mail from unknown senders waits in Quarantine Mail for you to review.
How to accept mail only from your contacts
Where: Settings › Security › Antispam
- Click your profile picture, then Settings, and open Security.
- Click the Antispam tab.
- Choose one of the three options. It is saved straight away.
- If you chose quarantine, check Quarantine Mail under Category in the left pane from time to time.
When to use it
Sunita is the CFO of a company on example.in and gets a flood of vendor pitches. She sets her mailbox to quarantine senders who are not in her address book. Her Inbox shows only known contacts, and her assistant reviews Quarantine Mail once a day.

Good to know
- Rejected mail is not delivered, so use the quarantine option if you might miss genuine mail. It is safer than the address-book-only option when you expect mail from new people, such as customers or candidates.
- Keep your address book up to date. A colleague or customer who isn't in it will be treated as unknown.
- If you don't see Antispam under Security, your administrator has hidden it or the antispam service is not turned on for your mailbox.
Common questions
What happens to mail from someone not in my address book?
With Receive email from my address book, the mail is rejected and does not reach your Inbox. With Move to Quarantine folder if the sender is not in my address book, it goes to Quarantine, where you can review it and release genuine mail with Not Spam.
How do I let a new sender through?
Add the sender to your address book. Their next mails then reach your Inbox.
