Options

View What you see
Shared with me Each file with a badge for your role: Viewer, Commenter or Editor. Hover for who shared it, for example "Shared by priya@example.in. You can edit this document." Editors open the file in edit mode, others in view mode.
Shared by me Each file you shared, with a count such as "Shared with 3 people", Manage sharing... and Remove access.

Good to know

  • Remove access asks you to confirm: "They will not be able to open it again." It takes effect the next time they open the file.
  • With nothing shared, you see "Nothing shared with you yet" or "You have not shared any documents yet".
  • These lists show documents shared with Share.... A colleague's whole Storage folder appears in your folder list as Shared Storage instead.

Common questions

Why can't I download a file in Shared with me?

Files shared with you have no Download, Send or Move buttons in Storage. Inside the editor, the owner decides whether viewers and commenters can download, print and copy.

A shared file no longer opens. Why?

The owner removed your access or it expired. You see "This document is not shared with you, or the owner removed your access." Ask the owner to share it again.
