Allow sign-in only from chosen countries
To limit your account to certain countries, open Settings › Security › Security and pick them under Allowed Country(s) from which this account is accessible. Click Update and confirm with the verification code. A sign-in from any other country is then refused, even with the right password. Choose ANYWHERE to remove the limit.
How to allow sign-in only from chosen countries
Where: Settings › Security › Security
- Click your profile picture, choose Settings, open Security and then the Security tab.
- Under Allowed Country(s) from which this account is accessible, pick one or more countries.
- Click Update and enter the verification code.
- To allow every country again, choose ANYWHERE.
When to use it
Deepa, an executive at acme.in, works in India and visits Dubai every quarter. She allows India and the United Arab Emirates, so a sign-in attempt from anywhere else is refused.
Good to know
- Your domain may already have a list of allowed countries set by your administrator.
- There is no code or other way past the limit while you are abroad, so update the list before you travel.
- If you are refused while travelling, ask your administrator to update the list.
Common questions
I am travelling abroad. What should I do?
Before you leave, add the country you are visiting, or choose ANYWHERE for the trip. Remove it again when you return.
Will I know if someone tries from another country?
XgenPlus can mail you a suspicious-login alert after a sign-in is refused. It sends at most one such alert a day.
