Read mail as conversations

With conversation view on, replies to the same mail are grouped into one row with a number showing how many messages it holds. Tap the row to see the thread, then tap a message to read it. To show every message on its own row, turn off Threaded view in display settings.

How to read mail as conversations

Where: Settings › General settings › Display › Message lists › Threaded view

  1. Open Settings, General settings, Display, Message lists.
  2. Switch Threaded view on or off.
  3. In the list, tap a row that shows a number above 1 to open the thread.

When to use it

A reply chain on the quarterly budget has six mails. It shows as one row with a 6, and Meera opens it once.

Good to know

  • Threaded view is on by default.
  • Search results are never grouped.
  • Conversations are built on the phone from the mails already downloaded.
