Move users to a higher plan
To move users to a higher plan, open the Users tab, select your domain and click Buy more users. In Change users or plan, choose how many users to move from one plan to another and click to pay. The change starts the day you pay and is charged for the days left in your term.
How to move users to a higher plan
Where: Dashboard › Users › Buy more users (or Upgrade on a trial domain)
- Open the Users tab and select your domain. On a trial domain, click Upgrade.
- In Change users or plan, choose Move, the number of users and the plan to move them to.
- To also buy new users, use Add with a user count and plan.
- Check What you pay now and click to pay.
- Give the moved users their larger mailboxes in the admin console.
When to use it
Acme's finance team of 8 needs larger mailboxes and DLP. The admin moves 8 users from Starter Pro to Advance Pro, pays the pro-rata amount and then assigns the extra space in the admin console.
Good to know
- Upgrades are charged pro-rata. Mixing plans on one domain is allowed, except with the trial.
- Within 15 days of your expiry date, renew first and make changes afterwards.
- Charges for adding users or capacity part-way through a term are not refundable.
- Upgrading from the trial counts as a new paid purchase, and the 15-day first-purchase refund window applies to it.
Common questions
When does the new plan start?
The change starts the day you pay. You are charged for the days left in your current term, and the renewal is then at the new size.
Do moved users get more space straight away?
Moved users get bigger mailboxes once you assign the space in the admin console, because the extra storage is pooled for the domain.
Can a trial domain be renewed?
No. A trial is never renewed. Use Upgrade to move it to a paid plan.
