Point your MX records to XgenPlus

To receive mail on XgenPlus, add two MX records at your DNS provider with host @. Use priority 5 for mx1.xgenplus.com and priority 10 for mx2.xgenplus.com. Then click Check now in DNS & Verification. Mail delivery starts automatically once the dashboard sees the records, which can take up to 24 to 48 hours.

How to point your mx records to xgenplus

Where: Dashboard › DNS & Verification › Email records

  1. Sign in to your DNS provider and open the DNS records for your domain.
  2. Remove any existing MX records for the domain. The setup page asks you to replace them.
  3. Add an MX record with host @, priority 5 and value mx1.xgenplus.com.
  4. Add a second MX record with host @, priority 10 and value mx2.xgenplus.com.
  5. Save, then open DNS & Verification in your dashboard and click Check now.

When to use it

Acme's admin has verified acme.in and created the mailboxes. Mail from customers still reaches the old provider because the old MX records are in place. He adds the two XgenPlus MX records, and the dashboard shows Email delivery active a few hours later.

The records

Type Host Priority Value
MX @ 5 mx1.xgenplus.com
MX @ 10 mx2.xgenplus.com

Good to know

  • Email delivery counts as active when the MX and SPF records are both found. See the SPF, DKIM and DMARC page for the rest.
  • Your DNS provider may ask for the host as your domain name instead of @. Use whichever form it expects.
  • Your domain's own name server is checked first, and Google and Cloudflare resolvers are checked too, so you can see how far the change has spread.

Common questions

What are the addresses behind the two MX names?

The setup page shows mx1.xgenplus.com with 202.157.83.56 and mx2.xgenplus.com with 202.157.81.56. You enter the names, not the addresses.

Email sent to my domain is not arriving.

The domain is created on the mail server and the administrator mailbox can sign in and send, but incoming mail arrives only when your MX records point to XgenPlus. The dashboard marks the domain as waiting for MX until it finds them.

Do I have to wait on the page?

No. DNS can take up to 24 to 48 hours to spread. Finish from your dashboard whenever you like.
