Add SPF, DKIM, DMARC and app records

To keep your mail out of spam, add an SPF TXT record at @, a DKIM TXT record at xgen._domainkey and a DMARC TXT record at _dmarc. Add two CNAME records, autodiscover and autoconfig, pointing to mail.xgenplus.com. Copy each value from DNS & Verification in your dashboard, then click Check now.

The records

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain.

Record Type Host Value
SPF TXT @ v=spf1 mx ptr a:a.xgenplus.com ~all
DKIM TXT xgen._domainkey A long key starting with v=DKIM1; k=rsa. Copy it from the dashboard.
DMARC TXT _dmarc v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:abuse@yourdomain.com; ruf=mailto:abuse@yourdomain.com
Autodiscovery CNAME autodiscover mail.xgenplus.com
Autoconfig CNAME autoconfig mail.xgenplus.com

Good to know

  • Each record shows Added, Needed or Not checked yet with what was found at your domain.
  • Your DNS provider may add the domain name to the host for you. Do not type it twice.
  • The MX records are on their own page.

Common questions

What does each record do?

SPF authorises XgenPlus servers to send for your domain. DKIM signs outgoing mail so receivers trust it was not changed. DMARC tells receivers what to do with mail that fails those checks. The two CNAME records let Outlook, Thunderbird and phone mail apps find your server settings.

My domain already has an SPF record.

The dashboard counts SPF as found when your SPF record includes the XgenPlus servers. Make sure the value shown here is part of it.

Do these records stop mail from working if I skip them?

Email delivery is shown as active once MX and SPF are found. DKIM and DMARC are still recommended so receiving servers trust your mail.
