Set the login page logo and backgrounds
To brand the login page for all domains, open Manage Server › Add Themes. Choose the logo kind, click Upload and pick an image, set Image Settings and click Save. Do the same for Set Header Background and Set Body Background. The Login Preview shows the result. Domains with their own theme keep it.
How to set the login page logo and backgrounds
Where: Admin console › Manage Server › Add Themes
- Open Manage Server › Add Themes.
- Under Set Your Theme, choose Login Logo, Header Logo or Profile Logo.
- Next to Set Company Logo, click Upload and pick the image file in the Upload File window.
- Choose how the image fits in Image Settings and click Save.
- Repeat with Set Header Background and Set Body Background, then check Login Preview.
Options
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Login Logo / Header Logo / Profile Logo | Picks which logo the Upload, Save and Remove buttons under Set Company Logo act on. | Login Logo |
| Set Company Logo › Upload | Opens the Upload File window. Drag an image into it or choose a file. An image larger than 1 MB is refused. | |
| Set Header Background › Upload | Uploads the picture for the header strip of the login page. | |
| Set Body Background › Upload | Uploads the picture for the body of the login page. | |
| Image Settings | How the picture fills its space: Stretch, Center, Repeat, Repeat-X or Repeat-Y. Each of the three items has its own list. | Stretch |
| Save | Applies the Image Settings you chose to the uploaded image. | |
| Remove | Deletes the uploaded image for that item. | |
| Login Preview | Shows how the login page looks. Use the refresh button to reload it, the full-screen button to enlarge it and the close button to come back. |
Example
Before moving every acme.in office to the new webmail, Meera uploads the Acme logo as Login Logo and a plain blue image as Set Body Background, sets it to Stretch, and checks Login Preview before telling the branch offices.
Good to know
- These are the server-wide defaults. A domain that sets its own theme in its own admin console uses that theme instead.
- Upload first, then click Save to apply the Image Settings.
- The preview is the quickest way to see whether a picture needs a different Image Settings option.
Common questions
How do I go back to the old image?
Click Remove under the item. The preview refreshes.
A message says Please Validate and Save Host Name. What does it mean?
Save and Remove need a host name to be saved for the domain you are working in. Set the Host Name in the domain's settings and try again.
