Good to know

  • mail_id is a message's permanent id. Every message tool takes it, and it does not change when the message moves. Edited drafts get a new mail_id.
  • Folders are named inbox, sent, drafts, trash, spam, templates and snoozed; your own folders are f_<number>. starred and unread work as virtual folders.
  • Mail content, contact fields and event text are passed to the assistant as untrusted data.

Common questions

Do I need to call these tools myself?

No. Your AI assistant picks and calls the tools from your request. This list helps you choose permissions and understand what the assistant did.

Where does the assistant learn how to use them?

The get_usage_guide tool returns the rules for ids, folders, workflows, errors and limits. Assistants are told to call it first when unsure.
