Delete archived mail from your domain
To clear archived mail, open Admin console › Manage Domain(s) › your domain › Domain Cleaner and click the Archived Domain Cleaner tab. Leave Email Address blank for all users, pick From Date and To Date, click Cleanup Archived Emails and confirm with Yes, Proceed. The job cannot be stopped or undone.
How to delete archived mail from your domain
Where: Admin console › Manage Domain(s) › your domain › Domain Cleaner › Archived Domain Cleaner
- Open Manage Domain(s), expand your domain and click Domain Cleaner.
- Click the Archived Domain Cleaner tab.
- Pick From Date and To Date. For one user, type the Email Address, click the search icon and choose the folders.
- Optionally fill Subject and choose Mark as.
- Click Cleanup Archived Emails, read the count in the box and click Yes, Proceed.
The form is the same as on the Live Domain Cleaner tab, except that it has no retention policy option and its button is Cleanup Archived Emails.
Options

The confirmation
The box says how many archived mails will be deleted permanently and for whom, and that the process cannot be stopped or undone. Click Yes, Proceed to start. If nothing matches, it says there is no archive mail to delete. When the job is running you see Process Started Successfully and you get an email when it finishes.
Example
acme.in keeps archived mail for audits. After the audit closes, Anita removes all archived mail of 2019 for every user. She sets From Date and To Date to cover that year, leaves Email Address blank and clicks Cleanup Archived Emails.
Good to know
- Only your own domain can be cleaned.
- You are notified by email once the cleaning finishes.
Common questions
Can I get archived mail back after cleaning?
No. Archived mail is deleted permanently and the job cannot be stopped once it starts.
What is the difference from the Live Domain Cleaner?
The Live Domain Cleaner works on the mail in users' mailboxes. This tab works on mail that has already been archived.
