# Send a Storage file as a download link

To send a link, open **Storage**, right-click a file or select several, and choose **Send link**, then **Send link (read-only)**. A new mail opens with a download link for each file. Add recipients and send. Recipients click the link to download the file, with no login. The link works until you delete the file.

## How to send a Storage file as a download link

1. Open **Storage** and right-click a file, or tick several files.
2. Choose **Send link**, then **Send link (read-only)**.
3. In the mail that opens, add recipients and edit the text if you like.
4. Click **Send**.

## When to use it

> The marketing team at acme.in sends a 300 MB product video to a distributor as a link, so it is not blocked by attachment size limits.

## Good to know

<div class="callout limit"><div><b>Anyone with the link can download the file.</b> Send links only to people who should have the file. To stop access, delete the file from Storage.</div></div>

**Do recipients need an XgenPlus account?**

No. Anyone with the link can download the file.

**Can I set an expiry date or password on the link?**
