# Preview a file without downloading

To preview a file, open **Storage** and click the file name, or select it and press Space. The file opens in a large viewer in your browser. Pictures, video, audio, PDFs and Office documents all open this way. Use the floating panel to download, send, move or close it, or to switch an Office file to edit mode.

## How to preview a file without downloading

1. Open **Storage** and find the file.
2. Click the file name, or select it and press Space.
3. Use the floating panel to **Download**, **Send**, **Move** or close the viewer.
4. For a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file, click **Edit** to start editing.

## When to use it

> Rohit in procurement previews a vendor's quotation spreadsheet in Storage on a shared office PC, so no copy is left on that computer.

## Options

| Pictures | Shown full size. |
| Video and audio | In a built-in player. |
| PDF | Page by page in the viewer. |
| Word, Excel, PowerPoint | In the document viewer, with an **Edit** button if Office is turned on for you. |
| Web pages (HTML) | Shown safely, without running scripts. |
| RTF | The text of the file. |
| ZIP and other archives | Not opened. Download the file to look inside. |

## Good to know

- **Edit** appears only when your administrator has turned on Office editing for you.
