# Add tags for every user's mail list

To add a tag, open **Manage Server › Add Tag**, type the **Tag Name** and click **Add**. Letters only are kept and the name is saved in capitals. The tag then appears as a filter button after **All** above users' mail lists. Use the edit and delete actions in the table to rename or remove a tag.

## How to add tags for every user's mail list

1. Open **Manage Server › Add Tag**.
2. Type the name in **Tag Name**.
3. Click **Add**.
4. To rename a tag, click edit on its row, change the name and click **Update**.
5. To remove a tag, click delete on its row.

## Fields

| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Tag Name** | The name of the tag, up to 37 characters. Only letters are kept. Required. | Empty |
| **Add** | Adds the tag. A name that already exists is refused with **Already Exist**. | |
| **Update** / **Reset** | Appear after you click edit on a row. **Update** saves the new name, **Reset** clears the box. | |

The table shows **#**, **Tag Name** and **Actions** (edit and delete).

## Example

> Rohit adds the tags **Invoice**, **Project** and **Urgent**. Users at every domain on the server now see these buttons after **All** above their mail list and can use them to filter.

## Good to know

- These tags are for the whole server. They are not specific to one domain.
- A tag name that is already in the list cannot be added again, even if you rename another tag to it.

## Common questions

**Why does my tag look different from what I typed?**

Only letters are kept, so numbers, spaces and symbols are dropped. The tag is saved in capitals and shown with only its first letter capitalised.
