# Allow sign-in only from home or office IP

To limit where your account can be opened, go to **Settings › Security › Security** and type your **Home IP**, your **Office IP** or both. Click **Update** and confirm with the verification code. After that, sign-ins from any other internet address are refused. Use this only if your home or office connection has a fixed IP address.

## How to allow sign-in only from home or office IP

1. Click your profile picture, choose **Settings**, open **Security** and then the **Security** tab.
2. Enter your **Home IP**, your **Office IP**, or both.
3. Click **Update** and enter the verification code.
4. To remove the lock, clear both fields and click **Update**.

## When to use it

> Rakesh in the treasury team at acme.in only ever works from the office. He sets the office's fixed IP as his **Office IP**, so even a stolen password cannot be used from outside.

## Good to know

- Mobile data and most home broadband connections change IP address often. Setting them can lock you out.
- Your administrator can also limit the whole domain to certain IP ranges. Those rules apply on top of yours.

## Common questions

**What happens if I sign in from somewhere else?**

The login page says "You are only allowed to login from either Home IP or Office IP" and lists your addresses. Ask your administrator to clear the setting if you are locked out.

**How do I find my IP address?**

Ask your IT team or internet provider for your fixed (static) IP address. Do not use an address that changes, or you may lock yourself out.
