# Get alerts about failed sign-ins

If you use the XgenPlus mobile app and allow its notifications, XgenPlus sends an alert to your phone when someone fails to sign in to your account from a browser. The alert names the browser and IP address. If it was not you, change your password straight away and tell your administrator. There is nothing to switch on in webmail.

## How to get alerts about failed sign-ins

1. Install the XgenPlus mobile app and sign in.
2. Allow notifications when the app asks.
3. When an alert arrives that was not you, change your password in **Settings › Change Password**.
4. Tell your administrator about the attempt.

## When to use it

> At 3 a.m. Kavita's phone shows that someone tried her password from an unknown IP. In the morning she changes her password and turns on two-step login.

## Good to know

- The alert goes only to the XgenPlus mobile app. Webmail itself shows no pop-up.
- Two-step login protects your account even if someone learns your password.

## Common questions

**I got an alert but it was me. Do I need to do anything?**

No. The alert is sent for every failed browser sign-in, including your own typing mistakes.
