# Renew your domain subscription

To renew, open the **Domains** tab in your dashboard and click **Renew Now** next to the domain. Choose how many years to renew for, add a promo code if the code allows renewals, click **Confirm & pay** and complete the payment. The expiry date moves forward and the mail server is updated automatically.

## How to renew your domain subscription

1. Open the **Domains** tab and find the domain.
2. Click **Renew Now**. A reminder email from us also links straight to the renewal of that domain.
3. Under **Renew for**, choose the number of years.
4. Enter a promo code if you have one and click **Apply**.
5. Click **Confirm & pay** and finish on the payment page.

## When to use it

> Meera gets a renewal reminder for acme.in three weeks before it ends. She clicks the link in the email, picks 2 years, pays by card, and the Domains tab shows the new date.

## Good to know

- Renewal is at the current size of your domain, including Mail Rescue and Storage Boost, which appear as their own lines in the renewal quote.
- Renewal payments are not refundable by default. If you renewed by mistake, ask within 15 days of the renewal date.
- Within 15 days of expiry you cannot add users or packs. Renew first.
- Multi-year terms are paid in advance and are not refundable, and promo codes do not apply to them.
- You can cancel at any time by writing to support@xgenplus.com. That stops future renewals but does not refund the term you paid for.

## Common questions

**Why does Renew Now not appear?**

It shows for verified domains on a paid plan. A trial domain is never renewed; use **Upgrade** to move it to a paid plan.

**What do I do if a payment is left unfinished?**

The **Domains** tab shows **Pay Invoice** or **Complete payment** for an unpaid order. Use it to finish.

**What is the "Mail server updated" step?**

After payment the page confirms the payment, extends the expiry date and updates the mail server, retrying automatically. It can take a few minutes, and you may close the page and check the **Domains** tab later. If the mail server step cannot be confirmed, contact support with your reference. Your payment and expiry date are still correct.
