# Check your domain setup progress

To check progress, open **DNS & Verification** in your dashboard and select your domain. A stepper shows four stages: payment received, domain ownership verified, email DNS active and mailbox created. Each DNS record is marked as found or still needed. Click **Check now** to run a live check after you change a record.

## How to check your domain setup progress

1. Open your dashboard and click **DNS & Verification**.
2. Select your domain from **Select a domain**.
3. Read the **Setup progress** stepper and the two chips for ownership and email delivery.
4. Click **Check now** after any DNS change.

## When to use it

> Meera has changed three records at her registrar and wants to know whether acme.in is ready. She opens DNS & Verification, clicks Check now and sees that ownership is verified and MX is found but DKIM is still needed.

## The four stages

| Stage | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Payment received | Your order is paid. |
| Domain ownership verified | One verification method was found. |
| Email DNS active | MX and SPF records were found. |
| Mailbox created on mail server | Your administrator mailbox exists on the XgenPlus mail server. |

## Good to know

- Each check looks at your domain's own name server and at Google, Cloudflare and the XgenPlus resolver, and shows when it was **Last checked**.
- If your domain's name server does not answer, the page shows public resolver results instead.
- The setup shows **Verify by** with a date if verification is still pending.

## Common questions

**Why is a record still marked Needed?**

DNS changes can take time to reach every resolver. Wait a while and click **Check now** again. Check that the host and value match exactly what the dashboard shows.

**What if the mailbox could not be created?**

The stepper shows that mailbox creation had an issue and that our team has been notified. You do not need to repeat any step.
