# Sort your message list

Open a folder, tap Sort by in the toolbar, and choose Date, Arrival, Subject, Sender, Star, Read/unread or Attachments. Choose the same item again to reverse the order. A short message tells you the new order. The choice is remembered for each account.

## How to sort your message list

1. Open a folder.
2. Tap **Sort by...** in the toolbar or overflow menu.
3. Choose a sort type.
4. Choose the same type again to flip between newest and oldest, or A to Z and Z to A.

## When to use it

> Rohit chooses **Sender** to see all mail from his manager together.

## Options

| Sort type | Orders by |
|---|---|
| **Date** | Date on the message |
| **Arrival** | When it reached your mailbox |
| **Subject** | Subject, A to Z |
| **Sender** | Sender name |
| **Star** | Starred mail first |
| **Read/unread** | Unread mail first |
| **Attachments** | Mail with attachments first |

## Good to know

- In a single account the order is saved for that account. In Unified Inbox and other multi-account views it is saved for all of them together.
- The chosen sort type is highlighted with an arrow.
