# Change an account's name, colour or servers

Open Settings and tap the account. In General settings for the account, change its name and colour. Tap Incoming server or Outgoing server to edit the host, port, security and sign-in. Wrong server details stop mail working, so change them only if your administrator asks.

## How to change an account's name, colour or servers

1. Open **Settings** and tap the account.
2. Under **General settings**, change **Account name** or **Account color**.
3. To edit servers, tap **Incoming server** or **Outgoing server**.
4. Tap **Next** to let the app check the new settings.

## When to use it

> Meera gives her office account a blue chip and her Gmail an orange one so she can tell them apart in Unified Inbox.

## Options

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Account name** | The name in lists. Starts as the email address. |
| **Account color** | Colour chip shown in folder and account lists |
| **Incoming server** | Host, security, port, authentication, user name and password |
| **Outgoing server** | The same for sending |
| **Change Password** | Opens the change password screen. See the related page. |
| **Remove account** | Overflow menu. Logs the account out. |

## Good to know

- The name that appears on outgoing mail is set under **Composition defaults**, not here.
- The app checks the login when you save server changes.
