# Reset a forgotten password in the app

On the Set up a new account screen, type your email address and tap Forgot Password. The Reset Password screen opens with your address. Follow the prompts to get a new password. This works for XgenPlus addresses only, and it needs an internet connection.

## How to reset a forgotten password in the app

1. Open the app and go to **Set up a new account**.
2. Type your email address.
3. Tap **Forgot Password**.
4. On **Reset Password**, follow the prompts.

## When to use it

> Rohit returns from leave and cannot recall his password. He taps **Forgot Password** in the app and resets it without calling support.

## Good to know

- The reset works for addresses on XgenPlus. For a Gmail or other outside account, use that provider's reset page.
- After you reset, sign in again with the new password on every phone and mail program that uses the mailbox.
