# Listen to a mail read aloud on Android

Open a mail in the XgenPlus app and tap the translate icon. Tap the speaker icon next to the source box to hear the original text, or next to the translation box to hear the translated text. Tap the speaker again to stop. The app speaks in the language you selected.

## How to listen to a mail read aloud on Android

1. Open the mail and tap the translate icon in the header.
2. Choose the source and target languages.
3. Tap the speaker icon beside the box you want to hear.
4. Tap the speaker icon again to stop.

## When to use it

> Suresh is driving to a site visit. He translates a Hindi mail to English and listens to it instead of reading.

## Good to know

- Speaking uses your phone's own speech engine, so the voice depends on what is installed.
- Speaking stops when you change the language or clear the text.
- Long text is read in parts.

## Common questions

**Why does it say Text to Speech is not available?**

Your phone has no voice installed for that language. Install a voice in your phone's text-to-speech settings. The menu on the translate screen opens those settings.
