# Mark everything in a folder as read

Open a folder, tap the overflow menu and choose Mark all as read, then confirm. Every message in that folder becomes read. It works on one account and one folder at a time, so it is not available in Unified Inbox or the Outbox. You can switch off the confirmation in settings.

## How to mark everything in a folder as read

1. Open the folder.
2. Tap the overflow menu.
3. Tap **Mark all as read**.
4. Confirm the question "Do you want to mark all messages as read?".

## When to use it

> Rohit returns from leave and clears a newsletter folder with one tap.

## Good to know

- The confirmation is on by default. Turn it off in **Interaction** settings under **Confirm actions**.
- The change is sent to the mail server, so webmail shows the same messages as read.
