## How to lock the Android app with your fingerprint

1. Open **Settings**, then **General settings**, then **Security and Privacy**.
2. Tick **Enable Finger Print Authentication**.
3. Authenticate once. **Fingerprint Enrolled!** confirms it.
4. Next time you open XgenPlus, authenticate at the **Unlock XgenPlus** prompt.

## When to use it

> Priya shares her phone with her family at home. She turns on fingerprint unlock so nobody else can open her office mail.

## Options

| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Enable Finger Print Authentication** | Asks for unlock when the app is opened. Applies to the whole app, not each account. | Off |

## Good to know

- On Android 11 and later, your phone's PIN, pattern or password also works at the prompt. On Android 10 and earlier, a fingerprint is needed.
- The prompt appears when you open the app. It is not a timer that locks the app after you leave it.
- Secret Keeper has its own fingerprint setting.

## Common questions

**Why do I not see the option?**

The row is hidden if your phone has no fingerprint or other biometric support.

**What if I cancel the prompt?**

The app shows Unlock cancelled and closes.

**What if no fingerprint is enrolled on my phone?**

The app says no fingerprint is enrolled, turns the setting off and opens normally. Enrol a fingerprint in your phone's settings and switch it on again.
