# Attach files in the Android app

In compose, tap the paperclip, choose Add attachment and pick one or more files. Tap the X on a card to remove one. If your account has a size limit, the total is checked and an over-limit message appears. A reminder asks if you wrote attached but added no file.

## How to attach files in the Android app

1. In compose, tap the paperclip icon.
2. Tap **Add attachment** and pick one or more files.
3. If you picked one picture, crop it and confirm.
4. Tap the X on an attachment card to remove it.
5. Tap **Send**.

## When to use it

> Rohit attaches a 4 MB PDF and a photo. The photo opens the crop screen first.

## Options

| Item | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Size limit | Set by your organisation. The message reads "Total attachment size exceeds N MB limit." |
| Empty file | Rejected with an alert |
| One picture | Opens the crop screen. Several files attach as they are. |
| **Attach Cal Event** | Creates an invitation and adds the guests to Cc. See the related page. |

## Forgot an attachment

If your text says things like "PFA", "please find attached" or "attached herewith" but no file is attached, a sheet **Forgot an attachment?** appears when you tap **Send**. Choose **Add Attachment**, **Send Anyway** or **Don't remind me again**.

## Good to know

- With several files chosen at once, the size is checked again when you send.
- Other mail accounts have no app limit, though their server may refuse large mail.
- On Android 10 and older the app may ask for storage permission first.
