# Use the attendance widget and reminders

Long-press your home screen, add the Attendance widget and tap Mark attendance to open the XgenPlus attendance flow in one tap. The widget uses your default account. The app also sends Attendance Reminder notifications if you forget to start or end your day, and you can set a one-off Remind me later.

## How to use the attendance widget and reminders

1. Long-press an empty spot on your home screen and open widgets.
2. Add the **Attendance** widget.
3. Tap **Mark attendance** on the widget to open the attendance flow.
4. For a one-off reminder, open **Attendance**, tap **Remind me later**, pick a time and set it.

## When to use it

> Priya adds the widget next to her clock so she can mark attendance as soon as she walks in.

## Good to know

- The widget uses your default account. If none is set, it says no default account is configured.
- Reminders need the notification permission.
- A Remind me later time must be later than the current time. It fires once.
- Phone-maker battery rules can delay reminders.

## Common questions

**What do the reminders say?**

Attendance Reminder, with You have forgotten to mark your attendance or You have forgotten to end your attendance. Tapping one opens your mail list, so open Attendance from the menu to continue.

**Why does the widget say Open attendance in XgenPlus?**

The widget could not open the flow, usually because there is no internet. Open the app and use the menu.
