# Create a video meeting link

To create a meeting, click the **VideoMeet** icon in the top bar and click **New Meeting**. Enter a display name if asked, of at least 3 letters or numbers. Under **Share your new meeting**, click the copy icon to copy the join link, then send it by mail, chat or any messaging app. Click **Start Now** to begin.

## How to create a video meeting link

1. Click the **VideoMeet** icon in the top bar.
2. Click **New Meeting**.
3. Enter your display name if asked.
4. Click the copy icon to copy the meeting link and share it.
5. Click **Start Now** when you are ready, or **Mail Invite** to send a formatted invitation.

## When to use it

> Anita needs an urgent huddle with the branch heads. She creates a VideoMeet, pastes the link into their WhatsApp group and starts the meeting two minutes later.

## Good to know

- The display name may use only letters and numbers.
- The link stays available until you end the meeting.
- VideoMeet is off by default and appears only when the server administrator has turned it on.

## Common questions

**Do people I invite need an XgenPlus account?**

No. Anyone with the link can join from their browser.

**Why don't I see the VideoMeet icon?**

VideoMeet is off by default. The server administrator turns it on. Ask your administrator.
