# Why can't I reply to or forward a mail?

Reply, Forward, Print or Delete is blocked for one of two reasons. The sender may have restricted that one mail, so an alert explains the block when you click the button. Or your administrator has switched off replying, forwarding or deleting for your account, so those buttons do not appear at all.

## How to why can't I reply to or forward a mail?

1. Click the action. If an alert says the mail cannot be replied to, forwarded, printed or deleted, the sender restricted it.
2. If the button is missing on every mail, your administrator has switched it off for your account.
3. Ask the sender or your administrator if you need the action for your work.

## When to use it

> Directors at acme.in receive the board papers by mail with **no forward** and **no print** set. When Rohit, a director, tries to forward them to his assistant, XgenPlus shows an alert and the mail stays with the directors.

## The two kinds of restriction

| | Set by | Applies to | What you see |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mail rights | The sender, when sending | That one mail | An alert when you click Reply, ReplyAll, Forward, Print or Delete. |
| Account permissions | Your administrator | Every mail in your account | The Reply, Forward or Delete buttons are missing, including in the right-click menu. |

## Good to know

- Mail rights also apply in **Quick Reply**, in print preview and in attached mails you open. **Full Comfort View** is hidden for restricted mails.
