# View the original source of a mail

To see a mail's full source, open the mail, click the **⋮** menu at the top right and choose **View Original**. A window shows every header, such as Received and authentication results, and the raw content. Your IT team often asks for this when checking a suspicious or undelivered mail.

## How to view the original source of a mail

1. Open the mail.
2. Click the **⋮** menu at the top right of the mail.
3. Click **View Original**. The original mail opens in a window.

## When to use it

> Rohit reports a suspected phishing mail. The IT security team asks for its headers, so he opens **View Original**, copies the text and sends it to them.

## Good to know

- **View Original** is not available in **Trash**.
- It also works on mails shared with you.
