# Stop a mail just after clicking Send

To be able to stop a mail after clicking Send, open **Settings › Default Settings** and turn on **Enable Undo Send**. From then on, clicking **Send** shows a short countdown with the From, To and Subject. Click **Stop Mail** to cancel and go back to the mail, or **Send Mail** to send it at once.

## How to stop a mail just after clicking Send

1. Click your profile picture, then **Settings**, and open **Default Settings**.
2. Turn on **Enable Undo Send**.
3. Write a mail and click **Send**. A countdown appears.
4. Click **Stop Mail** to cancel, or **Send Mail** to send straight away.

## When to use it

> Meera clicks Send on a quotation and notices she attached last year's price list. With Undo Send on, she clicks **Stop Mail**, swaps the file and sends it again. The customer never sees the wrong version.

## Good to know

- The setting applies to every mail you send until you turn it off again.
- The countdown shows the From, To and Subject, so it is a last chance to check the recipients too.
- For mail already sent to colleagues inside your organisation, use **Recall Mail** from Sent.

## Common questions

**How long do I have to stop the mail?**

About 10 seconds. The countdown in the dialog shows the time left, and clicking the dialog pauses it.

**Can I stop a mail to Gmail or another outside address?**

Yes. Undo Send holds every mail before it leaves, wherever it is going. Once the countdown ends, the mail is sent and only Recall can help, for colleagues on your organisation's XgenPlus who have not opened it.

**Can I change the sender during the countdown?**

Yes. You can choose a different From address in the dialog before the mail goes.
