# Save or discard a draft

XgenPlus saves the mail you are writing to **Drafts** automatically every 60 seconds. To save at once, click **Save Draft** at the bottom of the compose window. To finish later, open **Drafts** and click the mail. To throw a mail away, click the arrow next to **Save Draft** and choose **Discard Draft**.

## How to save or discard a draft

1. Write your mail. It is saved to **Drafts** every 60 seconds.
2. To save now, click **Save Draft** at the bottom of the compose window.
3. To continue later, open the **Drafts** folder and click the mail.
4. To discard it, click the arrow next to **Save Draft** and choose **Discard Draft**.

## When to use it

> Suresh starts his team's appraisal mail, then gets called into a meeting. The mail is already in Drafts. After lunch he opens Drafts, finishes it and sends it. A second, angrier reply he wrote earlier he discards so it does not sit in Drafts.

## Good to know

- In Classic compose, the first time you write a mail you are asked to choose **Save Automatically** or **Save Manually**. In Classic, use the **Discard** link to throw a mail away.
- A full mailbox stops drafts from saving.

## Common questions

**Why does it say I cannot save drafts?**

Your mailbox is full. Delete old mail or empty Trash to free space, then save again.

**Does Discard Draft also remove the copy in Drafts?**

Yes. The mail is closed and its saved copy is deleted from Drafts.
