# Open a password-hidden attachment

When a sender hides an attachment, it arrives inside an ordinary-looking file. Click the attachment and enter the password in **Password to Reveal Attachment**, then click **OK**. The real file is extracted and opens as normal. Get the password from the sender by phone or another channel, never by the same mail.

## How to open a password-hidden attachment

1. Open the mail and click the hidden attachment.
2. Enter the password the sender gave you in **Password to Reveal Attachment**.
3. Click **OK**. The real file opens.

## When to use it

> Anita's bank sends her statement hidden inside an image. The bank's relationship manager tells her the password on a phone call. She clicks the attachment, enters the password and the PDF statement opens.

## Good to know

- Without the password, the attachment looks like an ordinary file and the real content stays hidden.
- Senders can hide attachments only if their domain administrator allows it. The administrator chooses **Internal Domain** (within the organisation only) or **External Domain** (outside the organisation as well), so you may receive a hidden attachment from outside your organisation.

## Common questions

**I get "Incorrect password!". What now?**

Check the password with the sender and type it exactly as given, including capital letters.
