# Open and reply to an attached mail

To read an attached mail, open the mail and click the .eml attachment card. It opens in a window with its subject, text and attachments. **Reply**, **Reply All** and **Forward** in that window act on the attached mail itself, so you can answer its original sender directly. **Download** saves the .eml file.

## How to open and reply to an attached mail

1. Open the mail that has the .eml attachment.
2. Click the .eml card in the attachments panel. The attached mail opens in a window.
3. Read it, open its own attachments, or click **Reply**, **Reply All** or **Forward**.

## When to use it

> A customer complaint reaches Rohit as an attachment to his colleague's mail. He opens the attached mail and clicks **Reply**, so his answer goes straight to the customer, not to his colleague.

## Good to know

- Links inside the attached mail go through the same link security check as normal mail.
- If the attached mail restricts replies or forwarding, those limits still apply.
