# Check your notifications

To see notifications, click the bell icon in the top bar. The badge shows how many you have not seen, and the panel lists new mail, mails shared with you and folders shared with you. When a new-mail notification arrives, your Inbox refreshes by itself. Click **Clear All** to empty the list, or clear one item at a time. You can also add a sound.

## How to check your notifications

1. Click the bell icon in the top bar.
2. Read the list of notifications.
3. Click a single item's clear button to remove it, or **Clear All** to remove them all.

## When to use it

> Imran on the support desk has **Notification Tone** turned on. When a mail from a key customer arrives he hears the chime, sees the bell count go up and finds the mail in his Inbox without pressing refresh.

## Good to know

- The bell shows three kinds of notification: new mail, a mail shared with you and a folder shared with you.
- Old notifications are cleaned up automatically once a day when you open the panel.
- The unseen count is kept for your account in this browser.

## Common questions

**Can I hear a sound when mail arrives?**

Yes. Turn on **Notification Tone** in your mail settings.

**Do I need to refresh to see new mail?**

No. When a new-mail notification arrives, your Inbox reloads by itself.
