# Fix a mail that won't send

If your mail is not going, read any message that appears when you click **Send** and fix it, such as an empty **To** field or a full mailbox. Then open **Sent**: a **Bounced** icon next to a recipient means the address is wrong or refused. Check the spelling, correct it and click **Resend**.

## How to fix a mail that won't send

1. Click **Send** and read any message that appears. Fix what it asks for.
2. Open **Sent**. If the mail is not there, check **Draft**, as it may not have been sent.
3. In **Sent**, look at the icon next to each recipient. **Bounced** means the mail did not reach that address.
4. Correct the address, then open the mail and click **Resend**.
5. If your mailbox is full, delete old mail or empty Trash and send again.

## When to use it

> Deepak's quote to a new client never arrived. In Sent he sees a Bounced icon next to sales@exampel.in, spots the typo, corrects it to example.in and clicks Resend.

## Common causes

| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "'To' Field Cannot be left blank" | Add at least one recipient. |
| "Your account is full" | Delete mail or empty Trash, then send again. |
| Too many recipients, or **Daily Mail Quota** box | Split the mail, or send the rest tomorrow. |
| **Alert: Sending Email Outside Organization** | Check the outside addresses and confirm. |
| "Some network problem occurred" or "Unable to reach Xgen" | Check your internet connection and try again. |
| **Bounced** icon in Sent | Correct the address and click **Resend**. |
| "You are not allowed to send Mail" or account deactivated | Contact your administrator. |

## Good to know

- Your mail is saved to **Draft** while you write, so nothing is lost if sending fails.
- Mail from a mail app such as Outlook needs the correct outgoing server settings and an app password.

## Common questions

**It says "You are not allowed to send Mail". What now?**

Sending is switched off for your account. Only your administrator can turn it on.

**My mail bounced. What does that mean?**

The receiving side refused the mail, most often because of a typing mistake in the address or a full mailbox at their end. Check the address with the person.

**The mail is stuck in the Android app. What do I do?**

Open **Outbox** in the app menu and send the waiting mails again once you are online.
