# Change how your mail list works

To change how your mail list works, open **Settings › Default Settings**. Under **Message List View** choose 10 to 100 **Mails Per Page**. Turn **Show Mail List while viewing email (Concealed box)** on or off, set **On delete** to **Move to trash** or **Mark as delete**, and choose Yes or No for **Show right click menu**. Changes save straight away.

## How to change how your mail list works

1. Click your profile picture, then **Settings**, and open **Default Settings**.
2. Under **Message List View**, choose the number of **Mails Per Page**.
3. Turn **Show Mail List while viewing email (Concealed box)** on or off.
4. Choose **Move to trash** or **Mark as delete** under **On delete**.
5. Set **Show right click menu** and **Show Chat Window** the way you like.

## When to use it

> Kavita on the helpdesk at acme.in handles many short mails. She shows 100 mails per page, keeps the compact list visible while reading, and hides the chat window during busy hours.

## Options

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Mails Per Page** | How many mails one page of the list shows, from 10 to 100 in steps of 10. |
| **Show Mail List while viewing email (Concealed box)** | Keeps a compact list beside an open mail, so you can move between mails quickly. |
| **On delete** | **Move to trash** sends deleted mail to Trash. **Mark as delete** only marks it, struck through, in its folder, which suits people who also use a desktop mail app. |
| **Show right click menu** | **Yes** shows the XgenPlus menu when you right-click a mail. **No** shows your browser's own menu. |
| **Show Chat Window** | Shows or hides the chat window in the mailbox. Available only if chat is turned on for you. |

## Good to know

- A bigger page loads more mails at once. If your connection is slow, a smaller number may feel faster.
- With **Mark as delete**, marked mails are cleared when you log out, after XgenPlus asks you.
