# Get started with your mailbox

To start using XgenPlus, open your organisation's webmail address, sign in with the email address and password your administrator gave you, and set a new password if asked. Your Inbox opens. Click **Compose Mail** to write a mail, open **Sent** to see what you sent, and add your signature in **Settings › Signature**.

## How to get started with your mailbox

1. Open your organisation's webmail address in a browser. Ask your administrator if you do not know it.
2. Type your email address, click **Next**, enter your password and click **Login**.
3. If asked, set a new password of your own. Only you should know it.
4. Your Inbox opens. Click a mail to read it, or click **Compose Mail** to write one.
5. Add your signature in **Settings › Signature**, and install the XgenPlus mobile app if you want mail on your phone.

## When to use it

> Pooja joins acme.in on Monday. IT hands her a slip with her address, pooja@acme.in, a temporary password and the webmail address. She signs in, sets her own password, sends a hello mail to her manager and adds her signature before lunch.

## Your first ten minutes

| Do this | Where |
|---|---|
| Sign in | Your organisation's webmail address |
| Set your own password | Asked automatically on first sign-in, or **Settings › Change Password** |
| Read new mail | **Inbox** in the left pane |
| Write a mail | **Compose Mail** at the top of the left pane |
| See mail you sent | **Sent** in the left pane |
| Find a mail | The search box at the top |
| Add your signature | **Settings › Signature** |
| Add a recovery email | **Settings › Security › Security**, so you can reset a forgotten password yourself |
| Sign out | Your picture at the top right, then **Logout** |

## Good to know

- Tick **Remember me** on the login page only on your own computer, never on a shared one.
- If your Caps Lock key is on, the login page warns you. A wrong password is often just Caps Lock.
- The mailbox can show menus in Hindi and other languages. Pick the language on the login page.

## Common questions

**Where do I get my email address and first password?**

From your administrator or IT team. They create your account and tell you the webmail address to open.

**Why am I asked to change my password the first time?**

Your administrator set a temporary password and asked for a change at first sign-in, so only you know your new one.

**Can I use my mail on my phone too?**

Yes. Install the XgenPlus app and sign in with the same email address and password.
