# Find mail by tag or colour

To find mail by tag or colour, click the filter icon beside the search box, click **Search In**, and fill **Search by Tag**, **Search by Color Code**, or both. Tag names are suggested as you type, and the colour list shows your colours plus **No Color**. Click **Search** to list the matching mail.

## How to find mail by tag or colour

1. Click the filter icon at the right of the search box.
2. Click **Search In** to show the extra filters.
3. Type a tag in **Search by Tag** and pick it from the suggestions, or choose a colour in **Search by Color Code**.
4. Click **Search**.

## When to use it

> Meera tags every mail about a project "Phase-2" and colours the urgent ones red. Before the review meeting she searches for tag Phase-2 and colour red, and has the open issues in one list.

## Good to know

- You can combine tag and colour with other fields, such as a date range or sender.
- Tags come from your own tag list and the tags your organisation defines. Manage your own tags in **Settings › Email Tag**.
- Colours come from rules with the **Set Color** action or from colouring a mail by hand.
