# Set up your email signature

To set up your signature, open **Settings › Signature**. Choose **Official**, **Personal** or **Other** under **Name**, write the signature in the editor and add a logo if you like. Tick **Set as active signature** and **Add signature to all messages as default**, then click **Update**. If your admin sets an organisation signature, yours may be locked.

## How to set up your email signature

1. Click your profile picture, then **Settings**, and open **Signature**.
2. Under **Name**, choose **Official**, **Personal** or **Other**.
3. Write the signature in the editor. Use **Insert Image In Signature** to add a logo.
4. Tick **Set as active signature**, and **Add signature to all messages as default** if you want it on every mail.
5. Click **Update**.

## When to use it

> Priya, a consultant at example.in, keeps a formal Official signature with the company logo and phone numbers for clients, and a short Personal one for colleagues. She switches the active one when she needs to.

## Options

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Name** | Picks which of the three signatures you are editing: **Official**, **Personal** or **Other**. |
| **Insert Image In Signature** | Adds a picture, such as a logo, in JPG, JPEG or GIF format. |
| **Set as active signature** | Makes this signature the one used in new mails. |
| **Add signature to all messages as default** | Adds the active signature to every new mail automatically. |

## Good to know

- You can still edit or remove the signature in a single mail before you send it.
- Keep the signature short. A small logo and two or three lines read well on phones.

## Common questions

**Why can't I change my signature?**

Your administrator has turned on an automatic signature for your organisation, which locks this section, or has hidden it. Ask them to change it.

**Which image types can I use?**

JPG, JPEG and GIF images.
