# Check outside recipients before sending

When your admin turns this alert on, clicking **Send** on a mail with any address outside your organisation opens **Alert: Sending Email Outside Organization**. It lists the outside addresses. Untick any that are wrong and click **Yes, Please send**, or click **Cancel** to go back and edit the mail.

## How to check outside recipients before sending

1. Write your mail and click **Send**.
2. If the **Alert: Sending Email Outside Organization** box opens, read the list of outside addresses.
3. Untick any address that should not get the mail. Use **Select All** or **Deselect All** for long lists.
4. Click **Yes, Please send**.
5. If you unticked anyone, check the **Email will not be sent to the following** list and click **Confirm**, or **Go Back** to change it.

## When to use it

> Rohit types "rahul" in To and the suggestion fills in rahul@gmail.com instead of rahul@acme.in. When he clicks Send, the alert lists the Gmail address. He unticks it, sends the mail to the rest, and adds the right Rahul afterwards.

## Good to know

- The alert works in both new and Classic compose.
- Your administrator sets which domains are internal. Addresses on any other domain are listed as outside.
- Unticked addresses are removed from this mail only. Everyone still ticked receives it.

## Common questions

**Why don't I see this alert?**

Your domain administrator decides whether the alert is on and which domains count as internal. If it is off, mail is sent without the check.

**Does it stop mail to outside addresses?**

No. It only asks you to confirm. You can still send to any address you leave ticked.
