# Check for new mail

To check for new mail now, open **Inbox** and click **Check Mail** (↻) in the toolbar. Your Inbox also refreshes by itself every 5 minutes, and straight away when a new-mail notification arrives, so you only need the button when you are waiting for a particular mail.

## How to check for new mail

1. Open **Inbox**.
2. Click **Check Mail** (↻) in the toolbar. New mails appear at the top of the list.

## When to use it

> Anita is logging in to a government portal and waiting for a one-time password. Instead of waiting for the next automatic refresh, she clicks **Check Mail** and the mail appears.

## Good to know

- The counters next to folders and categories update along with the list.
- If an expected mail still does not show, look in **Spam-Promo**.
