# Choose how address suggestions work

To set up address suggestions, open **Settings › Default Settings** and turn on **Auto search** as I type in To, Cc, Bcc. Choose what to match, such as **Anywhere**, **First Name**, **E-Mail Address** or **Job Title**. Under **Also search in**, turn on **Global Address Book** or **Admin Address Book** to include your organisation's directories.

## How to choose how address suggestions work

1. Click your profile picture, then **Settings**, and open **Default Settings**.
2. Turn on **Auto search**.
3. Choose what the suggestions should match in the list next to it.
4. Under **Also search in**, turn on **Global Address Book** and **Admin Address Book** if you want them included.

## When to use it

> Rohit works in a large company and often needs to mail people he has never written to. He sets suggestions to match **Job Title** and includes the Global Address Book, so typing "CFO" in To finds the right person.

## Options

| Match on | Suggests addresses where |
|---|---|
| **Anywhere** | Your text appears in any part of the name or address. |
| **First Name** / **Last Name** | The first or last name starts with your text. |
| **E-Mail Address** | The email address matches your text. |
| **Domain Name** | The domain, such as acme.in, matches your text. |
| **Job Title** | The person's job title matches your text. |

## Good to know

- The **Global Address Book** and **Admin Address Book** options appear only if your administrator makes those address books available to you.
- Turn **Auto search** off if you prefer to pick recipients from the address book yourself.
