# Choose who can answer your form

In the builder, open **Settings** and under **Who can answer** choose **XgenPlus customers** or **Anyone with the link**. XgenPlus customers sign in with their XgenPlus email and an app code, and this is included free. Anyone with the link answers without signing in and needs Forms Plus.

## How to choose who can answer your form

1. Open the form and click **Settings**.
2. Under **Who can answer**, choose **XgenPlus customers** or **Anyone with the link**.
3. For customers only, optionally switch on **One response per person**.
4. Publish the change.

## When to use it

> Meera sends an internal feedback form to all staff, so she keeps it to XgenPlus customers and turns on one response per person. For the open-day signup, her colleague uses a Forms Plus mailbox and opens the form to anyone with the link.

## The two choices

| Choice | Sign-in | Plan needed |
|---|---|---|
| **XgenPlus customers** | People sign in with their XgenPlus email and the 6-digit code from the XgenPlus Mobile app. | Free allowance |
| **Anyone with the link** | None. Good for event signups and public surveys. | Forms Plus |

## Good to know

- **One response per person** is available only for XgenPlus customers.
- Forms cannot ask for passwords, PINs, OTPs or card numbers on either choice.

## Common questions

**Why is Anyone with the link locked?**

It is a Forms Plus feature, marked with a Forms Plus label. Without it, only signed-in XgenPlus customers can answer. Your domain admin can add Forms Plus from the dashboard.

**Can a public form have a file question?**

Only with Forms Plus. A form with a file question cannot be opened to everyone without it. Choose XgenPlus customers, or remove the file question.

**How do I know who answered?**

Responses from signed-in people show their XgenPlus email in the **Who** column. Public answers show **Outside XgenPlus**.
