# Find colleagues in the directory

To find a colleague, start typing their name in **To** while writing a mail, and XgenPlus suggests matches from the global address book. To browse it, open **Contacts**, click **Full View** and tick **Show Global Address Book** or **Show Admin Address Book**. Your administrator decides whether these address books are turned on.

## How to find colleagues in the directory

1. In a new mail, start typing a colleague's name in **To** and pick the suggestion.
2. Or open **Contacts** and click **Full View**.
3. Tick **Show Global Address Book** or **Show Admin Address Book**.
4. Expand **GLOBAL ADDRESSES** or **ADMIN ADDRESSES** to browse.

## When to use it

> Anita joined acme.in last week and her address book is empty. She types "fin" in To and the global address book suggests the finance controller.

## Good to know

- The global address book lists the users of your domain, and of other domains if your organisation allows it.
- The same directory is available in the address picker when you write a mail.
- Your organisation may allow you to send mail only to addresses in the global and admin address books.

## Common questions

**What is the Admin Address Book?**

It is a list of contacts your organisation's administrator maintains and publishes to everyone, for example key outside partners.

**Why don't I see the global address book?**

Your administrator has not turned it on for you. Ask them.
