# Find colleagues by department or place

To search by a detail, open **Contacts**, click **More Options** and, under the OR section, tick domains in **Select Domain**. Choose a detail in **Select Key**, such as department or location, type the **Attribute Value** and click **Search**. This works when your administrator has turned on the global address book.

## How to find colleagues by department or place

1. Open **Contacts** and click **More Options**.
2. Under OR, open **Select Domain** and tick the domains to search.
3. Choose a detail in **Select Key** and type the **Attribute Value**.
4. Click **Search**.

## When to use it

> In a state government setup with separate domains for each department, Rohit finds every officer whose district is Jaipur across all departments, then mails them all at once.

## Good to know

- The details you can search, such as department or district, are the ones your administrator records for users.
- The domains you can pick are the ones your organisation's directory covers.
- Use **Send Mail** on the results to write to everyone you found.

## Common questions

**Why don't I see Select Domain or Select Key?**

These appear only when your administrator has turned on the global address book for you.
