# Export events as an .ics file

To export a date range, open **Calendar**, tick a calendar, click the export icon (**Click to export calendar**), enter the from and to dates and confirm. An .ics file downloads. To export a single event, open it and click **Export**. You can send the file to anyone or import it into another calendar app.

## How to export events as an .ics file

1. Open **Calendar** and tick the calendar in the left pane.
2. Click the export icon (**Click to export calendar**).
3. Enter the from and to dates and confirm. The .ics file downloads.
4. To export one event instead, open it and click **Export**.

## When to use it

> Anita runs a project for a client at example.in. She exports March's project meetings as an .ics file and mails it to the client's project office, who add them to their own calendars.

## Good to know

- The file name starts with your email address.
- If there are no events in the range you chose, you see a message and nothing downloads.
- This is a one-time copy. Later changes in XgenPlus are not sent to the other calendar.
