# Create a calendar event

To create an event, open **Calendar** and double-click a time slot, or drag across several slots. Enter the **Subject**, a description and the **Venue**, then set the start and end time and the time zone. Click **Save**. The subject can be up to 300 characters, and you need some free storage space to save an event.

## How to create a calendar event

1. Open **Calendar** from the top bar.
2. Double-click a time slot in Day, Week or Month view, or drag across empty slots.
3. Enter the **Subject**, a description and the **Venue**.
4. Set the start and end time and choose the time zone for the event.
5. Click **Save**.

## When to use it

> Anita, a manager in Mumbai, creates "Quarterly Review" for 4 pm, keeps the time zone as Asia/Kolkata and sets the venue to "Board Room, 3rd floor".

## Options

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Subject** | The event title, up to 300 characters. |
| Description | Rich text, with formatting, for the agenda or notes. |
| **Venue** | Where the event takes place. |
| Meeting time and time zone | Start, end and the time zone the times are in. |
| Busy / Tentative / Free | How the time shows when XgenPlus checks for clashes. |
| **Attendees** tab | People to invite. |
| **Meeting Resources** tab | Rooms, food, vehicles or equipment to request. |

## Good to know

- The event editor also has buttons for **Check Schedule**, **Export**, **Duplicate**, **Cancel Event** and **Delete**. See the related pages.
- If you have more than one calendar, XgenPlus asks which calendar the new event belongs to.
- When you edit a repeating event, XgenPlus asks whether to change the whole series.

## Common questions

**Why does it say I do not have sufficient storage to create an event?**

Your mailbox storage quota is full, and the calendar uses the same space. Delete some mail or files, or ask your administrator for more space, then save the event again.

**How do I change an event later?**

Double-click the event to open it, make your changes and click **Save**. To move it, you can also drag it to another slot.
