# Tag conversations by topic

To tag a conversation, open **Assignments** and click the tag icon on it. Type a tag, or click one of the predefined tags, and click **Save**. Tags are saved in capital letters. Use the **Tagged** filter in your queue to see conversations with a tag, and supervisors see tag counts in reports.

## How to tag conversations by topic

1. Open **Assignments** from your profile menu.
2. Click the tag icon on the conversation.
3. Type a tag, or click a predefined tag to add it.
4. Click **Save**.

## When to use it

> The support team at acme.in tags every conversation REFUND, KYC or LOGIN, so the supervisor can see which issues come in most each week.

## Good to know

- The same tag cannot be added twice to one conversation.
- The predefined tags are a fixed built-in list. Nobody needs to maintain them.
- Predefined tags keep spelling the same across the team, which makes filters and reports more useful.
