# Type in Hindi and other languages as admin

To type in Hindi or another language in the admin console, use the language list and text box at the top. Choose a language such as Hindi, type the word as it sounds in English, for example bharat, and it turns into भारत. Click the copy button and paste into any field. Ctrl+G switches conversion on and off.

## How to type in Hindi and other languages as admin

1. Open the language list to the left of the text box in the header and choose a language, for example Hindi.
2. Click in the text box and type the word in English letters as it sounds, for example bharat. It changes to भारत.
3. Click the copy button that appears at the right end of the box.
4. Click in the field you need, such as a user's display name, and paste the text.

## Options

## Example

> The admin of a state department wants staff names in Hindi. She chooses Hindi, types "Meera Sharma" in the header box, gets मीरा शर्मा, copies it and pastes it into the user's display name.

## Good to know

- The box needs an internet connection to load the conversion service.
- Hover over the language list to see the Ctrl+G reminder.
- Text you type in the box is not saved. Paste it into a field and save that form.
